Overview

Medina Castle was founded durring the early 16th century in fall of the year 1506, by Treg̈me Hamer. The establishment of Medina Castle suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Medina Castle which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Medina Castle was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the early 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Medina Castle is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber and earth construction, with most buildigns first floors resembling mounds of earth, with subsequent floors appearing as elaborate log cabins, with each building forming a tiered pyramid of sorts fromed from the stack of rectangular, peek roofed cabins. Most wooden bracing, support, and trim is carved with decorative knotwork, and the larger structures even feature painted trim which emphasises the knotwork.

Medina Castle is buildings are arranged arround a network of crampt baked earthen streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The city is defended by arcane means. It's hard to spot at first, but there's a tell tell shimmer in the air arround Medina Castle, and you can spot the ocasional warding glyph carved into a rock or tree all arround town. These mystical defences are ancient, unknowable, and unassailable by current means... Assuming everything is in working order. Otherwise, the wards are little more than a deathtrap. Unfortuantly, these Relic of the World That Was are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

Something in your gut tells you that you may be unwelcome in Medina Castle. The town seems like it’s not showing you the side of itself it would show to others. People mostly ignore your questions. Many folks ask you to leave their establishments, even before you’ve walked inside them. You should probably listen to them, as every time you’re asked to leave the person asking you to leave has referenced the town’s patron divine in some way. The little voice in the back of your mind that tells you when you’re in danger feels like it’s just glaring at you and muttering about how stupid you are for even remaining in town.

Points of Interest

Medina Castle is remarkably well-fortified for a site of its size and role. Tall, stout walls, strong points inside the community, concentric defenses, a strategic terrain location, or a large body of standing troops might be present. Some threat is thought to exist that makes maintaining this fortification worthwhile, though it may come at a dear cost to the locals. The community’s suzerain may be uncomfortable with these defenses, as they could just as easily be used to defy the ruler.

Medina Castle makes use of canals for some of its streets. Locals often fish in the canals.

POI

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Medina Castle was attacked by soldiers from another nation, with orders to raid Medina Castle. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Medina Castle lost 119 people, 342 livestock, and 39 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 211, when members of Medina Castle's militia enacted an operation to transport a specific war supplies to a particular research site unharmed. The operation was complicated by the army being put into a position where they could only choose between two terrible options. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in a crushing defeat for Medina Castle's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Medina Castle's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
